1D grism spectra

Filename structure

Each filename starts with a Grizli root identifier followed by the source ID as so:

"jXXXXYYmZZZZ_AAAA" or "jXXXXYYpZZZZ_AAAA"

where X gives the SpARCS ID and A gives the source ID.

README

For each GCLASS cluster, a .zip file is available below. Within each of these files, there is a .fits file and a .png file for each source. The .fits file contains the following 8 fits extensions:

  1. Wavelength / Angstroms

  2. Flux / counts per second

  3. Error in the flux / counts per second

  4. The number of pixels from the 2D grism spectrum that contribute to the optimal extraction in each wavelength bin.

  5. Transmission curve of the filter / Angstroms per cm squared per counts per erg^-1

  6. The contamination model spectrum / counts per second

  7. Emission line flux fit to the spectrum / counts per second

  8. Spectral Energy Distribution (SED) fit to the spectrum / counts per second

Adding the emission line flux and the SED fit will provide you with the model fit to the observed spectrum.

The .png files shows the redshift fit by Grizli in the first panel in black. The blue line shows the fit obtained using photometric redshifts alone. The determined grism redshift is stated in the top right-hand-corner of this panel. The second panel shows the one-dimensional grism spectrum in orange points + error bars, with the final model fit overplotted as a solid red line. Wavelength is plotted in micrometres with the flux per wavelength in ergs / s / cm^2.
